Opeclari 500mg is a drug belonging to the antiparasitic, antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal treatment groups. The drug is manufactured by OPV Pharmaceutical Company Limited (Vietnam). Opeclari’s main ingredients are Clarithromycin 500mg and 250 mg.

+ Collaborate to eradicate Helicobacter pylori in duodenal ulcers

+ Treatment of lower respiratory tract infections: community-acquired pneumonia and acute and chronic bronchitis.

+ Treatment of upper respiratory tract infections: Pharyngitis, tonsillitis, sinusitis and otitis media.

+ Treatment of skin and soft tissue infections.

+ Treatment of infections caused by Mycobacterium avium, or Mycobacterial intracellular.

+ Prevention of disseminated infections caused by Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) in patients with advanced HIV infection.

Opeclari 500mg is indicated for the treatment of the following infections caused by susceptible microorganisms including:

– Coordinate treatment to destroy H. pylori bacteria.

– Some lower respiratory tract infections such as community-acquired pneumonia, acute and chronic bronchitis.

– Some upper respiratory tract infections such as: Pharyngitis, sinusitis and tonsillitis, otitis media.

– Skin infections and soft tissue infections.

– Infection caused by Mycobacterium avium or Mycobacterium intracellular.

– Prevention of disseminated infections caused by Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) in patients with advanced HIV infection.

How to use:

– The drug is taken orally regardless of meals

Dosage:

– Collaboration to eradicate Helicobacter pylori in duodenal ulcers in adults:

Triple therapy: 500 mg Opeclari and 1000 mg amoxicillin, all taken twice daily for 10 days. Combine with omeprazole or lansoprazole.

Two-drug regimen: 500 mg Opeclari, 3 times daily for 14 days and combined with omeprazole once daily.

– Respiratory infections or skin and soft tissue infections:

Adults and children over 12 years old: take 2 times a day, 250-500 mg each time, for 7-14 days. – Treatment of infections caused by Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC):

Adults: 2 times a day, 500 mg each time. Should be used in combination with another antibiotic against other mycobacteria.

– Prevention of infection caused by Mycobaterium avium:

Adults: 2 times a day, 500 mg each time

– Be cautious when using Clarithromycin in patients with impaired liver and kidney function. Because Clarithromycin is excreted mainly through the liver and kidneys. Clarithromycin can be used without dose adjustment in patients with hepatic impairment and normal renal function.

During treatment, you may experience some side effects such as:

– Allergic reactions ranging from mild to severe,

– Digestive system: nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, diarrhea

– Nervous system: headache, dizziness, anxiety, insomnia

– Liver function test disorders.

– Rare side effects: QT prolongation, ventricular tachycardia and torsades de pointes.
